What is the rule check on a draft?
An automatic check of the finished draft against the platform writing rules and your site's own: banned phrasing, structure, length and the placeholder count. It reports, it does not rewrite facts.
Every draft is checked the moment it is written, and the Rule check card shows the result.
What it checks
- Phrasing. Words and constructions the platform rules ban: filler openers, hype, hedging, clichés, and anything on your site's avoid list.
- Structure. The headings the brief asked for, a single H1, no empty sections, lists where the brief wanted lists.
- Length. Against the brief's range or the length you chose.
- Placeholders. How many facts the writer had to leave for you, and where.
- Links. That internal links point at pages that exist on your site.
What happens on a failure
A clean-up pass fixes phrasing and structure without changing facts, order or length, then the check runs again. What is left is shown to you with the line it concerns. Some items need a person: a fact to confirm, a placeholder to fill, a claim you would rather not make.
What it does not do
It does not check facts against the world, and it does not judge whether the page is good. The evidence panel is for the first; reading the draft is for the second.
