Sites and profiles
How do I fix the profile?
Open the Profile tab, press Edit, change any field, save and confirm again. The next run uses the new version.
The profile is the research's picture of the business. Anything wrong in it steers the research wrong, so fix it before running.
- Open the site and choose the Profile tab.
- Press Fix Something First (on an unconfirmed profile) or Edit (on a confirmed one).
- Change what you need and press Save and Confirm.
The fields
- Business name, type, summary, how it makes money. The summary is two or three sentences the rest of the research leans on.
- Customers. One segment per line.
- Offerings. One block per thing a customer can buy or request. Name, category, description, attributes (sizes, prices, turnaround, materials, constraints), price range and the page it lives on. Add a block for anything the site does not describe well; remove one for anything the site mentions but does not sell.
- Countries and service areas.
- Constraints. What the site cannot offer or serve: minimum orders, regions not served, things it does not do.
- Differentiators. Why someone picks this site over another.
- Seed topics. Ten to forty short phrases a customer might type. The research starts here. Add problem-based phrasings, not only product names.
- Notes. Anything else the research should know.
Versions
Every save is a new version; earlier ones are kept. Runs remember which version they used, so an old plan still matches the profile it was built on.
Starting over
Read the Site Again drafts a fresh profile from the site's current pages. Your edits are not carried into the new draft.
