Sharing and exports

Can I use the keywords for Google Ads?

Yes. Every keyword carries Google's cost per click and an intent, each group maps to an ad group, and Export and Share gives you a Google Ads Editor file with negatives included.

The research is built for pages, but the data underneath is the same data an advertiser needs.

What every keyword carries

  • Cost per click. Google's average advertiser cost per click, from the Google Ads keyword data. It is a column on the Keywords tab, sortable, and in the CSV.
  • Intent. Buy, compare, learn, fix, navigational or unrelated, judged against what your site sells.
  • Volume and difficulty. Monthly searches in your market and how hard the organic top ten is.

The Google Ads Editor file

On the Plan tab, press Export and Share and download the Google Ads Editor file. It is a CSV with the Editor's own column names, so you can paste it into Ads Editor or import it:

  • Campaign: the site.
  • Ad Group: the keyword group. Groups are searches that share the same top results, which is close to how Google decides which ad to show.
  • Keyword: every kept keyword, once as phrase match and once as exact match. Add ?match=phrase or ?match=exact to the download link for one of the two.
  • Max CPC: the measured cost per click as a starting bid. Change it to taste.
  • Negatives: at the end of the file, every search the fit check judged unrelated to what you sell, as campaign-level negative phrase matches. Your own brand terms and excluded terms are not in the list; those are yours to decide.

Keywords that were dropped, left unverified, or judged navigational are not in the ad groups.

What it is not

The research does not run Google's traffic estimates or suggest budgets, and the groups follow organic results, not ad themes. Treat the file as a strong first draft of the campaign, not the finished one.
