Research and results

What do build, improve and skip mean?

Build a new page, improve a page you already have, or leave the group alone. Every decision says why, what the page must contain, the size of the job and how confident the research is.

Each inspected group gets exactly one action.

Build

Create a new page. The decision names the page type, a working title, what it must contain to beat the current results, and the commercial reason tied to how the business makes money. Page types: service page, product, category, collection, comparison, tool, article or hub.

Improve

Change a page you already have that nearly serves the need. The decision names the URL. Two groups that would improve the same URL are folded into one, with the second group's keywords added to the first.

Skip

The likely benefit does not justify the work, the need is already well served, or the site cannot realistically rank. The reason is in the summary, and skipped groups sit at the bottom of the plan so you can see what was considered.

What comes with a decision

  • Work size. Small (hours), medium (days) or large (weeks).
  • Confidence. High, medium or low, and when it is low, the smallest useful experiment to run before committing.
  • Work involved. The jobs the page needs: writing, on-page, links, technical, design, research. Each links to the matching service category on Legiit, which is a disclosed relationship, not a requirement.
  • Open questions. Things only you can answer, for example whether you can offer a price the searchers want.

Planned sites

A site that does not exist yet can only build or skip. Its plan is a launch order: the pages the business sells from first, supporting content after.
