Research and results

Why was a page skipped?

Because the current results already serve the need, because your site cannot realistically rank for it, or because another page in the plan already covers it. The reason is on the row.

A skip is a decision, not a failure. It means the research looked and concluded the effort would not pay. The one-line reason sits on the plan row and in full on the page view.

The usual reasons

  • Well served. The top results already do what the searcher wants. A new page would have to win on authority alone.
  • Out of reach. The domains in the top ten are far stronger than yours and no comparable site ranks. The obstacle is named on the Can you win it card.
  • Covered elsewhere. Another page in the plan improves the same URL, so this group's keywords were folded into it.
  • No fit. The searchers want something the business does not offer, which the profile made clear.
  • Not worth the work. Low demand against a large job.

If you disagree

Open the page, read the evidence under each card, and check it against what you know. If the profile was missing an offering, add it and run again. If you think the research broke its own rules, tell us with the site and the page and we look at it.

A plan with nothing to build

It happens, mostly for small sites in crowded markets. The plan still tells you which groups exist, what serves them today and why you cannot win them yet, which is what you need to decide whether to build authority first.
