Troubleshooting

The research found no keywords, or very few

Usually the profile's topics were too narrow, too branded, or the market was wrong. Broaden the seed topics, check the market, and run again.

Why it happens

  • Narrow or branded topics. If the seed topics are the business's own names for things, the databases have nothing for them. Topics need to be what a customer would type.
  • Wrong market. A business researched in the wrong country gets that country's volumes, which may be near zero.
  • Everything dropped. Keywords were found but none fit the profile, or brand and excluded terms caught them all. The Keywords tab under Dropped shows the reasons.
  • A very new or very specific niche. The databases lag behind new products and skip long phrases. Customer-language phrases may still be there, marked unverified.

What to do

  1. Open the Profile tab and rewrite the seed topics as searches a customer would type, including problem-based phrasings. Add offerings the site does not describe well.
  2. Check the market on the Settings tab.
  3. Review brand terms and excluded terms for anything catching too much.
  4. Run again. Or paste specific keywords into Check Specific Keywords to inspect them directly.
