How do I publish the knowledge base?
Press Publish on the Answers tab. Then host the answers on help.yourdomain.com with one DNS record, or download the file for your platform, or copy the pages in. Every answer you left ticked goes out.

On the Answers tab, untick any answer you don't want and press Publish. Your ticks are saved and the Publish page opens. It says how many answers will go out: every answer in your list that you left ticked. Nothing else ever leaves the product.
On a site about money, health, legal matters or safety, the button says Review and Publish, and the Publish page first asks for your named reviewer: their name, their role and a tick that they read the answers and agreed to be named. One press approves every ticked answer. See On medical, legal and money sites.
Then choose one way to put the answers on your site.
Host them on your own subdomain
Where it's offered, we serve the answers at help.yourdomain.com as plain HTML, under your name and with no trace of ours, and keep them up to date as you untick or add answers.
- Show that the domain is yours, one of three ways: a TXT record at
_kw-verify.yourdomain.comwith the value shown, a file at/.well-known/kw-verify.txtwith that value, or a Search Console connection for the site. Press Check. - Press Host It Here.
- Add the one CNAME record shown at your DNS host and press Check DNS.
An answer you later untick answers 410 Gone at its old address, not 404.
Or download them for your site
The method we recommend for your platform is listed first.
| Method | For | What you do |
|---|---|---|
| WordPress import file | WordPress | Tools, Import, WordPress: one upload, about 15 minutes |
| One page with every answer (HTML) | Any site | Paste into one page of your site |
| HTML pages (zip) | A custom site or one with no CMS | Upload the folder to your web host and link the help page from your menu or footer |
| Markdown files (zip) | Static site generators and docs tools | Add the files to your content folder |
| Webflow, Wix or HubSpot CSV | Those platforms | One CMS or knowledge base import |
Or copy and paste
- A page at a time. One block per category page, every answer a visible section. Paste the HTML into your editor's HTML or code field, not an embed element.
- One answer at a time, for any editor.
- Questions about each offering. A short block of questions and links for the page that sells each offering, so customers find the answers where they already are.
- An llms.txt section, optional, for tools that read llms.txt.
We never offer a script or an iframe: AI assistants read pages without running scripts, so the answers go on your site as plain HTML.
Settings
- Layout. One page with every answer, one page per category, or a hub with category pages and a page per answer.
- The AI line. Switch on the line "Written with AI from {your brand}'s own pages" if you want it on the pages. On a site about money, health, legal matters or safety, it adds "and approved by {name} on {date}"; type the name that should appear, a person or the business, never an email address.
- Google Analytics on hosted pages, optional. Visitors see a banner, and the tag loads only if they allow it.
Mark as published
Once the answers are on your site, paste the address of the help page and press Mark Answers Published. Every answer is marked published at the address the export put it: its own page, or the page that holds its section. Those addresses are then fixed, so links keep working. A daily check also looks for the answers at their expected addresses and marks what it finds, so you only need the button when your address differs.
Check that they can be read
Press Check My Site. It reads your robots.txt for each search and AI crawler, then fetches the page each answer should be on, without JavaScript, and checks the status, the robots meta tags, the canonical link and whether the answer's text is there. It lists anything that blocks the answers from being read, and anything worth a look. It never stops you publishing, and it only fetches pages on your own domain.
