Credits, plans and billing

What does a knowledge base cost?

The preview is free. A build is 50 credits plus 2 credits an answer, so 25 answers cost 100 credits and 125 cost 300. Answering a question yourself is free; extra answers are 2 credits each. Slots we can't fill are refunded.

The knowledge base is for accounts that have bought something: a plan or credits. The build reads every page and writes every answer with real vendor spend, so it is not part of the free preview of a site or the $1 trial.

Step Credits What you get
Prepare the preview Free The question map with its evidence, where the answers would live, three sample answers from your own pages; once per site every seven days unless the profile changed
Build 50 + 2 an answer Any multiple of 25 answers the question map can fill, up to 300: 25 answers for 100 credits, 125 for 300, 275 for 600
Publishing Free Every download, copy block and hosted page, as often as you like
Answering a question your site doesn't answer Free Press Answer beside it under Not in your knowledge base yet, type the answer in a sentence or two and press Add to My Knowledge Base; it joins the list at once
An extra answer 2 Any question under More questions you could add, including general ones about your kind of service
The weekly check Free Rereads the pages behind the prices and policies in your published answers
A planned site 10 + 2 an answer One page of up to 20 answers, written from your description until the site is live

Charged when the build starts, returned if it fails on our side.

What is refunded

  • Slots the map could not fill. If the build finds fewer evidenced questions than the size you bought, the difference comes back at 2 credits a slot.
  • Slots for questions your site doesn't answer. Each keeps its slot for 60 days in case you answer it. If you haven't by then, its 2 credits come back.
  • Extra answers your site can't answer. An extra answer that your site and your own words can't answer is refunded.

Research credits are never refunded once the build has read the site.

In plan terms

  • A 500 credit pack ($119) covers a 125-answer build with 200 credits over.
  • Pro (300 credits a month) covers a 125-answer build, or a 25-answer build and eight written pages.
  • Agency (1,200 credits a month) covers a 275-answer build and twenty written pages.

Why it never overspends

Every run carries a spend ceiling set from its credits. If a build's vendor spend passed that ceiling for any reason, the run stops, the credits come back and we are alerted.
