How do I add my help centre?

The knowledge base reads your existing help centre on Freshdesk, Intercom, Zendesk or a docs site as your own words. We find it from your pages and your chat widget; add one we missed under Your help centres.

Many businesses already answer customers in a help centre on another host. The knowledge base treats it as the business's own words, which it is.

How we find it

  • A link from your pages to a help centre host (for example yourcompany.freshdesk.com or intercom.help/yourcompany).
  • The help centre set in your Intercom chat widget.
  • An address you add on the Knowledge base tab under Your help centres, one a line.

What we read

Every article, in full, even in the free preview. Each article is cut into facts paragraph by paragraph, by code, each with the exact words and its position in the article. A video-only or image-only article has no text to answer from, and the questions it raised are set aside with that reason. Article titles join the question map as questions your customers ask, worded the way a customer would ask them. Articles about a separate brand, a free tool, a newsletter or the blog stay out.

How the answers use it

When a question is asked by one of your articles, that article's facts are the first the writer sees, in the article's own order, and the answer says which article it rests on. A help centre paragraph is never used just because it shares a topic word with a question. Answers never point the reader at "the video" or "the article"; they answer the question, and may link to the article as one of your own pages.

What we never read

Other businesses' help centres, reviews, forums, search data or what an AI assistant says about you. If a help centre linked from your site is not yours, remove the link or tell us and it is left out.
